if i deploy 4 sensors with this unit can i tell which sensor set off the alarm?

want a perimeter alarm system that i do not have to drive the entire perimeter just go to the sensor that activated the alarm.

Answer : Each one can be set up like 1 buzz, 2 buzz, 3 buzz, and 4 buzz.easy to set up.

Answer : it has adifferent sound for each sensor.

Answer : it will beep once for number one sensor, twice for number two and soforth

Answer : Yes, you can tell which sensor was triggered, but you'll have to count the beeps in the alarm. This can be tedious in some conditions. There are units available that you can program a voice message to specifically identify the triggered sensor, but they are more expensive.

Answer : well yes, but... this is a lower cost unit - so there is no sound/alarm choice it gives out a phone like beep so, first sensor - produces single beep second unit produces double beep third unit produces triple beep, and so on if this will work for you - then, yes but if you cant, be near to hear it and count the beeps, then a more expensive unit that has discrete separate alarm sounds may be better to work with.

Answer : Yes, because during the learning process, each sensor has a different number of beeps attached to it.

Answer : Yes you can tell which sensor set off the beeps. The number of beeps will tell you which sensor was detected.

Answer : Yes, the device will give a different number of beeps for each sensor. As you set up each device keep track of which device uses what number of beeps.

Answer : Yes, Sensor #1 will beep once if activated, sensor #2 will beep twice if activated and so on. So for example if you have sensor #4 at the back gate and you hear 4 beeps, that means sensor #4 at the back gate is where you have a possible intruder.

Answer : It has different "peeps" for each sensor, but you wont hear any of them unless you are right there beside the box. This thing just isn't loud enough to be of any use to anyone.

I have trees between the end of my driveway and my house. Does this unit require unobstructed area?

Answer : No....I have a double car garage and a concrete block/masonry home blocking line of sight to the detector 150' away and it works perfectly.

Answer : No I have same situation and over 360 ft and it works great

Answer : no, but it helps mine are behind a brick house.

Answer : Any obstruction will reduce the effective range of this system but this unit worked for me over 400 ft and through multiple house walls to the base. These units are rated with line of sight numbers, but a clear line of sight is not a requirement for it to operate. If the distances involved in your application are less than 1000 ft, I'll bet it will work.

Answer : well - maybe it does need an open 'lane' to view for movement but that does not mean a tree trunk cannot be at the far side or near the units viewing lane but a bush/ branches that move in the area may cause it to go off. It is low cost (compared to other better systems) - I would give it a shot, and it may work for you

Answer : No, absolutely not. I placed a sensor at least 1000 feet away and their is a thick amount of plant life, including large trees between the house and sensor.

Answer : It detects motion of anything coming across its path. As long as the unit is placed close enough to the edge of the driveway it should detect them.

Answer : Hi Ellen, this system will be blocked by brushes trees and other obstructions. The system will pick up movement between the sensor and the trees but not past the trees.

People?

If someone is walking down the street and comes walking up my driveway will it set the alarm off? That's the problem I have is people walking onto the property.

Answer : Yes, this alarm will go off if someone walks onto your property.

Answer : I use it to detect armadillos tearing up backyard and it works perfectly.

Answer : Yes it does. That's way I bought it also.

Answer : Yes. They will work very well for that purpose if the range isn't to far, say like a 1000ft or so. I have 2 sensors placed at the front entrance to my property, one each side of the road and NOTHING gets by them without the alarm going off.

Answer : Hello Bruce! You can have the base station sound an alert when a person walks up your driveway using this system. The included instructions will assist you in positioning and adjusting the sensor in such a way so that you will be alerted if someone enters your property.

The system works as advertised, rate 90% accurate.

We have the detector installed .5 mi from the receiver, with no obstacles. We have had only a few cases where the system should have sounded and didn't. It works well during the day and at night, it sounds when the cattle are grazing around the guard after dark. I have no trouble hearing the alarm all around the house, my husband is slightly hearing impaired - he can hear it in the same room every time, but in other rooms only some of the time (it is turned up to its highest setting, I would not want it any louder). It has met my expectations and would recommend it.

The product does work good, but the buzzer is no where loud enough. It would not wake you up if it buzzed. It would only buzz once on each pass. I had it right beside my bed and no way would it wake me up. That is the only draw back to it.. The buzzer needs greatly to be improved. I did return it for a refund.

Good item for the money

I purchased this item for my mother to use in her home. It works well inside her home to alert her when the back door has been opened. Easy set up right out of the box, no connectivity issues and seems to do the job. In regard to the volume of the base unit, it isn't that loud as some others have already reported on their reviews. We set it up in the master bedroom for peace of mind at night when my mother is alone and for her purposes it is loud enough to wake her if someone were to enter her home. If you plan on being able to hear the alert tone throughout your entire home you may want to consider a different unit. If you only need to be able to hear the alert tone in a single room this product will get it done. Overall its worth the money.

Works Great

I have enjoyed this alert system my wife and I like it so were much it will let you no when someone has entered our driveway. The motion alert box in the living room is loud enough we can hear it in our bedroom at night to wake us up.You can also hear it outside on the back porch.I purchase a extra remote box for my son's drive which is behind our home.I have our driveway alert set for 2 beeps and my son's set for 1 beep that way we no where to look.GREAT PROUCT.Thinking about ordering two more wireless motion detectors for other parts of your yard that people can enter by.I don't no what some of the other reviews where saying that they couldn't hear it over the TV maybe they didn't tune up the volume my is plenty load.

Don't waste your time and money

This product works fine except for one thing. You cannot hear the alarm unless you are right there in the room with it and with no TV or other background noise. That makes it pretty much worthless. I'm returning mine today.

great alarm system

I have 4 Chamberlain alarm system for over 6 years and it never failed

Great product

It works great, except when those little lizards come near it, it goes off but otherwise I plan to add more sensors to this, the volume is great too.

This alarm works great for detecting anything coming across its path. The only downside is that it detects lawnmowers, animals, etc., not just vehicles. I previously bought one that only detected vehicles by their vibrations, but it was not reliable and missed most of the cars coming down our driveway. This particular alarm is VERY reliable, doesn't miss one animal/vehicle/lawnmower/kid on a bike coming down the driveway. Also quite easy to install.

Good for driveway movement.

Works every time. Did not get the distance advertised. Best the item could detect was about 15 feet.

Great for Long Driveways

I have installed two of the three units that were purchased. They were very easy to set-up and install. Since I did not have a post in-place to mount the sensor, I took a four foot length of 3/4" diameter gray plastic conduct pipe to stick in the ground, leaving approximately 42" out of the ground. I attached a plastic 4" square conduct box with it's cover plate. I attached the sensor to the cover plate. It allows me to easily move the sensor to a new location if need be. The hardware can be purchased at the local hardware store, Home Depot, or Lowes, store. The sensor has given my in-laws and my daughter piece of mind knowing that they know something has appeared on the driveway without being surprised by unexpected guest.

Does the job

Almost the same as the previous system I had. Buzzer is not quite as loud, but can still hear it well. Like the volume control - comes in handy when the deer are setting it off in the late evenings.

Excellent product, works perfectly.

Has a great range

Works fine for me I have 2 sensors about 600 ft. from the house and they work fine.

So Far Good Product

So far the product is doing well. It cannot be put as far away as they say. I put it less then a 10th of a mile from the house and it did not do well. Picked up only part of the time. After I moved it closer it is doing well. The sound is good, I had to turn down the volume on the base. I also like you can use electricity for the base with battery backup.

Versatile, portable, easy to operate, dependable

Armadillos tearing up lawn during the night. After 3 sleepless nights spent sitting up waiting on them to show up (they didn't) I purchased Chamberlain Wireless Motion Alert System and set up in backyard. First night I slept well until alarm activated at 4:15 AM. Got up and ended the armadillos reign of destruction permanently. Now set up to protect chicken coop from the coyotes. Watch out coyotes! Motion detector range reliable to 20', transmits to base 150' from backyard to bedroom through concrete block home with no problem. Falling leaves and rain don't activate but small animals will. Love it!

fgp

had a older system and it work great . this is the same great !!!

Great system for outdoor monitoring

I bought this item to help monitor a remote entrance at a work site. Since there are no outlets anywhere near the area the battery power system for the motion sensor and battery backup for the alert device was essential. It does a pretty good job for monitoring vehicles coming in and out; that being said it could stand to be a little louder. Preferably users should have more than one sensor for an entrance so that no pedestrian or vehicle goes undetected.

About what I expected

I read the reviews before I bought. The piezo speaker is loud in that room, but the sound doesn't carry well beyond that. The product claims a half mile. I needed the sensor to be 600 feet away from my house, with the receiver unit in the house. It works fine for that distance. I tested it at a farther distance, just to see how far it transmits, and beyond 700 to 800 feet, it's not reliable.\nIf you place a FRS walkie talkie, on vox in front of the receiver, and the other one you can place where you like. When the alarm sounds, the FRS unit relays that.

My brother recommended this product...

My brother recommend this product with rave reviews. He was right. It was easy to install and works great. I cannot see my driveway from my house and have had people arrive without my knowing it (unwanted and otherwise). The sensor has given me piece of mind. It even alerts me when my animals walk past it toward the road - which I like. (You can adjust it to avoid this if necessary.)

Keeping fingers crossed

Having had and replaced wired cameras for our driveway entrance not visible to the house, decided to forego the picture and audio for just an audible alert.\nIt has been in place outside for a little over a week and is meeting our expectations. No false alarms even though we have set the motion detection on high, no cats, squirrels or outher crtters have set off the signal.\nWas delighted that after reading some of the other reviews that the sound was as loud as we could ask for, did not expec that.\nNow, our only hope is the the unit will continue to work as it is without having to change batteries too often in the outside unit or have any other malfunction pop up unexpectedly. Very happy, so far.\nOh, by the way I am "Tall Person's" wife.
