This product has a weight limit of 165 lbs. Is that per bed? In other words, is it strong enough for

Answer : I would abide by that weight limit if it were me. They are good bunks but they seem more child size. (Not a ton of room between the two mattresses to sit up.) If you need the beds for 2 large adults, I would feel more comfortable seperating them out and having them both on the ground.

Answer : Yes, that is per ped. This bunk bed is made more for kids/young teens than adults.

Can the ladder be switched from left side to right side?

Answer : No, the ladder is in a set position due to the pre-drilled holes they have. I have two sets of these bunk beds on opposite walls in my kids' rooms and have had no problem, they just have to sleep in different directions

Answer : yes but it would be difficult the holes for the steps are pre-drilled and you would have to re-drill them to switch it.

Is the top bunk rail high enough to fit a box spring also?

storkcraft caribou

Answer : No. This top bunk will absolutely not hold a box spring and a mattress. I only have a thick, pillow-top mattress on there and it already is higher than the side rail. (No one is currently sleeping on the top bunk though so I've left the mattress up there.)

Answer : I wouldn't think so,I got what they call bunkies and that's a twin mattress with the box spring attached all in one and its no thicker then a regular mattress, works great and rail comes way over the bed..

Great for the price, but I have dislikes!

I have three dislikes about this bed. First it says that it is either a bunk or two twins. Well we bought this for the two twin option and they are not identical side by side. The bottom bunk headboard and footboard corners are taller than the top bunk. It actually doesn't look horrible and I'm probably the only one who notices it, but it was a visual dissapointment. Next is the top bunk rails. They are pretty short. We have a regular twin mattress on it and there is only about 3 inches of rail sticking above the mattress. This actually works fine for us because like I said the top bunk is on the floor and we put the one rail on for our 3 year old who would fall out of bed serval times a night. Now he sleeps through the night most often. However if/when we convert to a bunk, we may need a thinner mattress for the top. My final complaint is about the assembly. Nothing was labeled, which took a bit of time to get tape and label each of the many pieces. Also some holes did not line up completely, but were easily fixed with a hammer or drill, or just wiggling the screws and boards until the screw found the hole. Still with the assembly issues it took me 3 hours to put both beds together, and this was with a 7 & 3 year old "helping".\n\nNow for my likes! 1. The price was right. It was $100 for each twin bed. 2. They are very sturdy. My husband and I lay in bed with the boys and the bed doesn't creek or anything! Remember this is not put together as a bunk. 3. They look very nice with the exception of the corner posts of the bottom bunk being taller.

Great Beds, excellent value.

These Beds exceeded my expectation. For that price, I expected them to be somewhat flimsy, and very difficult to assemble. This was not the case. When it was shipped, this product arrived in two boxes, which were not tampered with at all. The boxes were fairly heavy but it is possible for one person to move them around. I built these in about three hours with the help of my 7 year-old step-daughter. It would be possible for one person to do most of the work but it is much easier when you have someone to hold pieces steady. There are a few parts that require some muscle work, and that was relatively easy, however the ladder was the most challenging to put together, as the screws were so big. I got help stacking the beds and they seem very sturdy. I am very happy with this product and so are the kids.

Very impressed !

Sturdy and great quality. Very happy with the purchase!

Well designed, complete and sturdy.

Can be assembled by yourself, easier with 2. Only screwdriver needed. Not as tall as most, works well with lower ceilings. Many cross boards to support mattress. Quite pleased.

Watch you head

I love the look of the bed BUT and the most annoying thing of all is the clearence level between bottom bunk and top. I literally have to get on my hands and knees to tunk my daughter into bed on the bottom bunk. Her brother, 7 yr. old who is small for his size, cant even sit up on the bottom bunk.\nThat is the only reason I would NOT recommend this item, is the clearence level.

Great bed! Kids love it!

I have a 5 and 3 year old and it is perfect for them! It took 2 1/2 hours to assemble and it is very sturdy. For the price you will not find a better bunk bed!

LOVE this bunk bed!!! Its gorgeous and perfect for my kiddos!! :) Also it was very easy to assemble. The only part that took 2 people was when I put the top bed on top of the bottom. Other then that it was a 1 person job ;)

great product for the price

I am happy with these bunk beds. The cherry color is very rich and tasteful. These bunks took my husband 2 hours to assemble. They are on the small side and are perfect for toddlers and kids. My 3 year old sleeps on the bottom bunk and will share the bunks once his little brother is older. These seem sturdy and are solid wood as far as I can tell. No pieces were damaged in the box. I really have no complaints and would recommend these beds.

Wonderful Bunk Bed!!!

I would absolutely reccommend this bunk bed! My two boys (4 and 7) love their new bed! I was very impressed with the quality given the exceptionally low price. It is a very sturdy, solid wood construction. It did take some time and patience to assemble but well worth it! It is a beautiful bed for a great value!

Great bunk beds

These are great looking bunk beds. We got them for our 5 year old (top bunk) and our 20 month old daughter. They are sturdy, they do not wiggle if you try to shake them, and I like how you only use a mattress with them and no box springs. The bottom bed has a good amount of space from the bottom of it to the floor for ample storage, while at the same time not being too high to hurt our toddler if she should fall out of the bed. We just had to get a little stepstool that stays next to the bed for her to get in and out of it, and it is working great. The kids love their beds, and we love the way they look and how sturdy they are. All pieces came in great shape as well. Eventually when we have the space, we plan to convert them to two separate twin beds.

Bed support rail broke twice!!

These beds are cute, and we liked them until the mattress support rail broke less than a year after we bought the bunk beds. When I called the company to fix the problem, they gave me a replacement part, but refused to refund my money. Well, fast forward another year and the replacement part has broken. We will not be buying beds from them again. Who wants a bed that breaks?!

LOVE IT!!!

I got this bed a few weeks ago for my 7 and 5 year old. I was worried at first about if it was going to be sturdy or not,My husband put it together and it proved me wrong It was VERY sturdy! I love this bed as well as my kids! the cherry wood is so pretty! I looked at all the beds here on the website and landed on this one. So glad i got this bed.I was also worried that the top bunk rail would not come up high enough so my daughter wouldn't fall off,It was plenty high enough!! we had also bought bunkies( twin mattress with box spring attached in one mattress) for there bunk bed and was afraid they wouldn't fit wrong again fit like a glove.Love,Love,Love IT!!!!!!

Excellent quality at a steal of a price

I wanted to get a cherry bunkbed to match the dressers we already have. I was worried the color wouldn't match and the quality would be poor. With two boys I wanted something sturdy. So it looks great and is built to last. It was easy to assemble. I put it together 8 months pregnant with the help of an 11 year old.\n\nI like that the ladder doesn't come off the bed, but is securely screwed in. Also it doesn't go all the way to the floor so you can put a trundle under or toy bins. The only disadvantage to this would be if you have a little one you don't want to climb that ladder.\n\nThe height between the bottom bunk and top bunk is not enough for an adult to sit up on the mattress. There is a benefit to this though...the top bunk is lower to the ground so it is MUCH easier to make (I know because I have another set for the other room and it is a PAIN to make that top bunk. And if there is a ceiling fan in the room you won't have to be as worried about injury. However, if a teenager is going to use the bottom bunk it might be awkward.\n\nThe only thing I didn't like: it had a strong smell. It took about 4 days for the smell of the stain? to clear out of the room.

Another great bed!

This is our second set of bunk beds, our first is a set of the Elise bunk beds in white in our daughters' room. We have had them over 2 years and they are doing great.\nOur boys needed big boy beds so we decided to go with a darker wood for their bedroom and went with this set. They came this week and this morning I put them together, almost all by myself, in 3.5 hours. I am a little detail oriented so I sat down and sorted pieces and wrote numbers on the hardware bags and then got started so I am sure the building itself was about 3 hours. I needed my 9 year old daughter to help me twice, once to help hold a footboard while I attached the side rails (I only asked for help with the top bunk due to there being more rails, I managed by myself with the lower bunk though it probably would have made things easier if I had help) and once to help me lift the top bunk onto the bottom bunk.\nIt is a very nice looking set of bunk beds and seems just as sturdy as our other set. I couldn't be happier with the value of these beds, ever since we got our first set I recommend Walmart.com to anyone I know looking for bunk beds.

Awesome bed!

So I researched, and read all the reviews on this bed and it did not disappoint! My husband had this bed put together in less than 3 hours (by himself) He said directions were EASY. After he got it together we both were completely happy with it! The kids (ages 5, and 3) love it and we bought a dresser that was Storkcraft Cherry (to match the bed) and it was a different style name (Beatrice) and it matches PERFECTLY.\nThe only negative I have with this bed is that each piece is labeled with a sticker letter to help while putting together and they are very stubborn to come off. Other than that GREAT BUY GREAT BED.

LOVE IT!!!!!!

We got this bed for my two boys and love them! Great buy I like them more than some of the beds that cost 3-4 times more!

Good but with issues.

I bought this set for my 2 sons, it was ok to put together. My complaints are, 1 - ALL the bolts are a 4mm alan wrench. One is provided in the kit, BUT it is so small it's hard to tighten down the bolts. I recommend using your own if you have one. 2- The latter does not attach and detach easily for separation of the beds into 2 twins. I would also suggest that you invest in a really good quality phillips head bit. 3- the wood under the top bed (the slats that hold the top mattress) is exposed and rough, i just stapled a sheet to it, easy fix. Other then that my boys love them. I put this together myself within 2 hours, only needing help to place one bed on top the other.\nI live in a house trailer, the ceilings are shorter than a regular house, and it fits great.\nI hope this the helpful to you.

great bunk bed

i love it sooo much that i had to buy another one for my step kids great quality and great color i am very happy with product its worth it

Nice Bed

I was happy with this purchase for my boys. The bed was pretty easy to put together. I was able to put it together by myself with my 4 year old son helping me. I put the top slats on after he helped me lift it onto the dowels. Simple assembly and it seems pretty sturdy. I thought it would be cheaply made because of the price. I guess time will tell but for now we're really happy with it.

The bed had two of one part and was missing another part, but this was very quickly fixed with a call to the manufacturer. The bed is sturdy and fits the need just right.
