Is this flat black or shiny black? Does it have woodgrain?

Answer : Its shiny black its really nice

Answer : it's shiny-black, and the knobs are silver. It's a very classic, stylish looking dresser. I really recommend it, especially for how it looks. It really looks like i spent twice as much on it.

Answer : shiney black, no woodgrain

Answer : It has a bit of sheen. No woodgrain.

Answer : Flat black, matte finish, wood look.

Answer : no wood grain, it is a matte finish

Answer : It is flat black, not shiny and has no wood grain. it is engineered wood that has a slightly glossy paint coat that chips if you aren't careful. but it does come with a wax black touch up pen thing, that works great.

Answer : it's dark brown and it does have wood grain.

Answer : It is flat black and nice looking. No woodgrain.

Answer : It is flat black. Nice looking.

how much assembly is required?

Answer : It just comes in pieces in a box and you put the whole thing together

Answer : The whole thing...about 3-6 hours.

Answer : It took my boyfriend and his two friends about an hour and a half to put together. A little complicated, but as long as you follow the directions you'll be satisfied with the end product.

Answer : it took me all day to assemble the drawers by myself with no power tools, it takes 2 people to assemble the cabinet and that only took 2 hours

Answer : Lots! Took me several tedious hours to put together.

Answer : It took about 2.5 hours to put together. The longest part is assembling the drawers. It has hard plastic glides, not metal. Otherwise the instructions were fairly straightforward.

Answer : alot of assembly & can be frustrating

Answer : A whole lot of assembly is required. If I knew how much work it would be I would of bought something else.

Answer : It took my husband 2 hours to put together, and he was cursing while he was doing it. Once we got it together and screwed into the wall, (it is required to be screwed into a stud in the wall for support) it looks really nice and it is great for my children's bedroom. But the assembly was difficult.

Answer : I was reading the instructions and getting the hardware for my husband, and it took us 3 1/2 hours.......wow!!

Is there a "support" bar underneath the drawers?

Answer : No.

Answer : No, but it is reasonably sturdy. Would only use to store clothes, and not consider this piece for books or other heavy items.

Answer : no there is no support bar

Answer : No, there is no support bar underneath the drawers. This would be a good thing to consider if you plan on really loading up the drawers. It wouldn't be hard to make your own support bars and screw/dowel them in place if you have a little extra wood lying around the workshop.

Answer : Nope. I wish.

Answer : there is one near the middle

Answer : Only one in the middle of entire unit. Not under each drawer

Answer : No, there isn't, but if you put it toghether well, there's really no need for one. Its very sturdy.

Answer : no

Answer : no bar under the drawer but is very sturdy and not needed.

A one year product

This dresser is not what I expected. My husband took a while to put it together because there was so many parts. I felt bad telling him I didn't like the dresser after it was finished because it is very flimsy. The drawers are on plastic which means they are difficult to open unlike those with wheels. The drawers are small too. I don't suggest paying this amount for a dresser. If I were to sell this dresser at a yardsale I would only get 30 dollars max after it being built! Don't waste ur money.

Good for the price!

Putting it together was deffenitly at two person job! It took my husband and I a while to put together. But once it was done I fell in love with it. I love the color and the look of it.

The drawer looks great but took FOREVER to put together. The bottom of every drawer is cheap, not even wood, its cardboard. I hope this will last... If you are planning to store heaving items do not purchase but other than that it looks GREAT! Bigger than I thought which is a good thing. (a little wider in person than in picture).

THIS SHOULD GET ZERO STARS!!! STAY AWAY!!

THIS DRESSER IS A PIECE OF GARBAGE!! PARTICLE BOARD, PLASTIC DRAW SLIDES - HOLES NOT COMPLETELY DRILLED - ONE OF THE KNOBS NOT DRILLED SO CAN NOT BE PUT ON - SCREWS COMING OUT DURING ASSEMBLY - STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS DRESSER!!! IT IS BROWN NOT CHERRY AND YOU CAN NOT RETURN TO WALMART.\n\nSPEND MORE MONEY AND GET SOMETHING DESCENT I JUST WASTED $159

Nice for the Price

I really like this dresser. It looks nice and is exactly what I thought it would be. The only problem was putting it together. It came with A LOT of small parts to put together and it took my husband about 4 hours and a headache.

Not Worth it

This line of bedroom furniture looks very good but.... they are difficult to put together and if the nails /screws are not absolutely perfect, the boards tear/crack! drawers seem to have good support Rails ar plastic but roll well. Be careful not to throw out the back; they pack it on the bottom so it looks like just the bottom of the package.

dresser made in china

This dresser is nice enough. What you'd expect from walmart. But is was a HUGE pain in the booty to but the drawers together. Weird pieces, don't align very nicely. It literally took two people to screw the pieces together once it was together it was pretty nice. Matches the rest of my daughters bedroom and the drawers are easy to open

Not what was expected for price!!!!

I just opened my box and was very impressed by how well it was packaged to prevent any damage to the parts. But I was ABSOLUTELY SHOCKED when I saw the very flimsy.....PLASTIC drawer rails that were provided!! I've contacted the company and hope this was a mistake. I payed good money and expected a dresser that would last for years to come. I don't see how these drawers will make it through a year with these rails. The weight of the clothes will make them break easily!!\n\nVERY DISAPPOINTED!! Intend to return if the rails are not replaced!!

pretty good dresser

the biggest problem is assembly. doable with two people but still timely...just a lot of parts to assemble. the color isnt really cherry, looks more walnut so was disappointed with that and a couple of the drawers stick a bit. overall for the price it is a good deal, fine for childrens clothes, pretty durable seems to be solid, overall look is nice and chic if you are looking more for a dark brown and not brownish red color

has more drawer space than first thought, great perchase.

Best Value For The Money We Found Anywhere

I've assembled a lot of do-it-yourself furniture over the years, and this is the best engineered I've seen. Everything fits together nicely and each piece was perfect. The first two reviews mentioned that there were a lot of pieces and that it took too long to assemble. I won't disagree with that, because it did take me a couple hours to assemble. But the directions are more than adequate and everything goes together nicely. It just takes a little patience and a room free of toddlers. :-)\n\nThe drawers included nails to secure the bottom to the back side, rather than just relying on the bottom to remain in the slot on its own. It's obvious that whomever designed this, thought it out very well. It was shipped in boxes that were reinforced with extra cardboard on all four corners and then wrapped in heavy plastic.\n\nAlso, you can't beat the price. I suppose you could spend a few hundred dollars more and get solid wood and wood drawer bottoms, and not spend two hours assembling it yourself. But for the money, this is excellent. We bought the dresser, chest, and night stand and were pleased with all three.\n\nIt remains to be seen how well it will hold up to the occasional abuse of children, but so far, so good.

DO NOT PURCHASE

I purchased this product in November and it has been a headache ever since. It came in a million pieces, very cheap looking. some parts were already chipped. Had no other option because i was moving and needed something. The drawers slide on plastic and they fall everyday. they do not line up and it is so cheap. i would not recommend this to ANYONE.

Great product and experience

After comparing reviews and prices for something simple, this product stood out from the rest. I had no issues when I picked the item up from the store. I started putting it together that night and needed minimal assistance. Instructions were easy to follow and the finished product looks great. I would definitely recommend this product to a friend.

Looks rich

Over-all appearance is awesome. This dresser is pretty stout! The only thing that I wish would be different is deeper drawers.

has more drawer space than first thought, great perchase.

Good Chest for the Money

I used Walmart's Ship-to-Store service. The product was shipped to a store a few blocks from my place, and arrived ahead of schedule. I picked it up and brought it home (box weighs about 80 lbs, so make sure you have help if you're a smaller person) and began the assembly. The instructions were easy to follow, but be sure to set asside a few hours because there are quite a few steps. As some of the other posts mention, the tracks for the drawers are plastic, but they function adequately. I'm interested to see if they stand the test of time. All the peices were in good condition out of the box, and once complete, the chest looks nice. I would conclude that it is a very practical piece, and as much as you can hope for in a $150 chest.

looks nice, takes a long time to put together

Like the other reviews indicated, it takes a long time to put together even if you are a handy person. The rails on the drawers are plastic i.e. cheap and may not last. The dresser drawers are not deep but the appearance of the dresser is very nice. Hopefully it won't scratch. These are the nicest dressers we could find for this low of a price so we did not expect them to be of exceptional quality.

You get what you pay for...not too bad though

It took a while to put together, and it stresses to NOT clean with most anything but soap and water as the color will rub off. bottom line it was fairly cheap and looks pretty good...and its a decent size. Will it last...who knows =o)

Good Value, Sturdy, Easy to Assemble

I bought this dresser for a baby's room. It matched the existing furniture in the roombut it not not from the same manufacturer or intended as furniture for the nursery. It was less expensive than a similar dresser designed as "nursery furniture". It is sturdy and was fairly easy to assemble. Make sure to read through the entire directions before putting it together.

good product

This took a little while to put together, but the pieces and parts to put it together are organized in little baggies and are all grouped together which was a big help. In the end it looks great.

Very sturdy for the price

So this dresser is going to take you a long time to assemble but I think it was worth it for the price. You definitely need two people to assemble like it suggests and a screwdriver & a hammer. It took my boyfriend and I about six hours to complete but we weren't going at a very fast pace so it can be done in a shorter time I'm sure. I would go ahead and make a pot of coffee before you get started because you are going to be there awhile! Overall the drawers slide very smoothly and it is not wobbly at all. A used to have a dresser very similar to this one and in the same price range from Target and it was so wobbly and top heavy it would actually sometimes fall over! This one is a lot more sturdy for sure. It also looks just like the picture and very sleek and stylish! I am actually really impressed with how nice it looks and how sturdy it is for being so cheap! I am overall very happy with it so far and the assembly time is worth it especially if you are trying to decorate on a budget!
