Answer : 5dBi The box it came in and the instructions don't say anything about 9dBi.

Will this work with Century link internet?

just got century link and want to add wireless to my old computer

Answer : Yes if your old computer is XP SP2 or newer.

Answer : If you have a wireless router and a computer it should work. It works with computers only as you must install the software from a CD to Windows.

Can I connect an external antenna to9 the adapter

I have an external antenna on my roof for extended range with a sma connector.

Answer : Yes. Just don't use the antenna that comes with it and attach your antenna cable. It will need to be RP SMA female.

Answer : No. I tried using a USB extension from the computer to the antenna. Did not work.

Great product!

This adapter not only gave me a wireless connection on my PC but is a wonderful range/signal extender. A rep at a local electronics chain told me the item wouldn't extend my signal enough to connect with the router in my home from a small guest home right next door but I took a chance and he was VERY wrong. Works like a charm and i get several other signals as well. also works on my laptop and I didn't even need the software disc as the product automatically installed the driver's when i plugged it in. The price is perfect!

Easy to install Works great

This wireless adapter took only a minute to assemble and plug in. The computer recognized the USB device right away and I didn't need the CD that came with it. I'm using it on a computer that is 3 rooms away from the wireless router and still connect immediately with excellent signal.

Great Product

Was not able to connect to a free WiFi connection across the highway. After installing this device, it connected no problem.

Excellent choice for the price!

Needed an adapter that was strong enough to pick up my router through several walls. I was\nvery pleased as soon as I hooked it up. Took only minuets to do, and I get an excellent signal.\nIf you have a router that is a good distance from your computer and your current adapter delivers a weak signal, this would be worth trying. The convenient site to store shipping just\nput the icing on the cake. Great buy!

Great Wireless Apapter

I visit my daughter and she has wireless in her home but I stay in the guest house next door. I could not get the signal very well only 1 bar. Since buying this I get 3 bars from poor to good. Now I can get on the internet when I visit. I would recommend this item it is a great value. Just plug it in and it does the rest.

amazing. my signal went from poor to excellent.

I needed something to boost signal reception on the upstairs computer, the router being doenstairs. an easy 5 minute hookup. sticks out from USB port about 10 inches, but does the job well.

not as good as it says

Hooked this up... went less than 200 feet and lost signal. What happened to the 1000 meters? No trees in the way, just a clear shot. Decient if you wanna just go outside the house and use but not any further.

Good WiFi Booster

My office is located in the back of the house, computers needed a boost for the WiFi. This product is doing a good job of keeping me on-line.

I bought this item for desktop pc with windows xp- and its working great! it took me less than an hour to change channels and find the right one compatible, since windows xp is kind of old.

Awesome product.

This item has been very helpful, I bought it to go into our rental home across the road from us and they say that it works great. They are using our wifi with this antenna and they love it. Great product for a great price.

very nice product, and very easy to install. it does work on windows 7 which is what i have.

Great Product for the price.

In my new house I've always had a problem with wifi reception from the router. The house is long and with the router in the office, the signal was too weak at the other end of the house in the bedroom. I'd tried signal extenders and moving the router to different locations but nothing worked. So I was skeptical, especially for the price. But it worked - straight out of the box.\n\nI've tried it with a laptop, a notebook, and a tablet and they all have strong signal reception in areas that had very weak reception previously. I did not need to use the CD for setup. Just plug it into a USB port and setup the computer to use the new adapter. By the way, this is a whole new wireless adapter. Great product.

Did accelerate speed.

Not sure what to expect. Hope to see large jump in accessible wifi sites. Didn't do this but did increase speed of the one wifi site I do use for internet.

Outstanding Value and Performance

Surprised by the performance, doubled speed of my laptop upload and download, im situated on the third floor, 50ft above the router.. always struggled for good signal hence slow upload and downloads, now fast, easy, no hesitations, great uploads and downloads.. I have noticed having the ariel horizontal and not vertical from this direct height increases the signal strength, (not that it needs it) also works way down the road at friends house no problem at all. Great buy, great price.. they should charge more. All friends are buying one. If you have signal issues go get one of these.

premiertek powerlink wireless 802 what a buy

what a great product I went from no bars to 5 and im more than 300 ft from the public wi-fi

Good price, plastic is most problematic issue

-The good things about this item are that it is cheap, has good connection from a distance and is easily removable (be careful mine came apart when removing it, grab the actual part that directly connects to the USB port, instead of the main plastic body).\n\n-The bad things about this item is that it is cheap plastic casing that is able to come apart and is hard to snap back together the many times I have had to do it when there is no reason to take it apart in the first place. It also just plugs into the USB port which its shape is not meant to be as it makes the antenna way to long and sticks out a fair distance from where the USB port is.\n\nMine recently fell apart about 3 months after owning it, I was able to snap it back together in places after some effort. I will most likely purchase a second one of these once this one stops working as the price is good, and to see if mine was just a fluke.

Work's Great !!

I read the reviews . Most good some not so good . For the ones who said there were no instructions: there are instructions via disc . That being said you would need a disc player to see the instructions and how to use it . For the comments on not working any better then what was showing up for their original signal and just returned it to the store : You also would still have to set it up in order for it to work via the disc , not just plug it in . And for the comments about just plugging it in and worked well ; some computers have built in programs to recognize new software and facilitate installing it . I have two Hot Spots near me , one approx 100' away the other approx 300' away , I get an excellent signal from the one that is furthest from me ! I bought it because my new Toshiba C - 55 Satellite couldn't connect wireless to the internet . Now I'm keeping both !!

Painless setup, great reception

Didn't even have to use the CD...machine recognized & installed driver when the adapter was plugged in. Went from 2 bars to 5 in our environment, and it's picking up other routers from 2 blocks away (not that I'd be trying to poach on them, mind you). The only caveat, and it's easy to tell by the illustration, is that the adapter and antenna do protrude a good ways out of the USB port...if you have close clearance around your machine you'll need a side, rear or even front port that will accommodate it (would not recommend using with a hub or patch cord).

Will not work on Windows 7

Will not work on Winddows 7, Program and drivers are for older Windows.

Great product

This product is excellent and worked above and beyond my expectations!
